How Much Will Medicare Cost?

Medicare costs don’t have to be a mystery. Here’s what you need to know to plan ahead and make the most of your coverage.

Medicare Part A – Hospital Coverage

For most people, Medicare Part A is premium-free, thanks to years of contributions through Medicare payroll taxes. This means your hospital coverage is already taken care of, with no monthly premium in most cases.

Medicare Part B:
Medical Coverage

Medicare Part B covers your outpatient and medical services. In 2024, the standard premium is $174.70 per month for most people. For those with higher incomes, monthly premiums range up to about $600. But don't worry – we're here to help if your income changes.

Income-Based Adjustments & Appeals

Social Security determines Part B premiums based on your income from two years prior. For example, if you join in 2024, they’ll look at your 2022 income. If you’re experiencing a drop in income, especially after retirement, we can assist with an appeals process to potentially lower your premium.
